The Maintenance is looking to fill the role of Maintenance Technician in their Leominster, Massachusetts facility. The Maintenance Technician is part of the Production and Maintenance team. You will perform a wide variety of maintenance duties to support manufacturing operations and facilities. You are responsible for all aspects of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and record keeping of all injection molding machines and related equipment. The duties of a Maintenance Technician require your hours to be flexible and you may need to be ‘on-call’ as needs arise.

The Leominster site is one of the manufacturing sites for IPL’s Large Format and Retail Packaging (LF&R) business in the United States. LF&R is a growing segment, with annual revenue of approximately $200m and significant growth potential, and is part of the Environmental, Returnable and Industrial Solutions (ERIS) Division of IPL.

Position Title: Maintenance Technician (Injection Molding Machines)

Location: Leominster, Massachusetts

What you will bring to the role:

• Basic electrical and hydraulics skills
• Welding & fabrication
• Basic machine shop skills & tool experience
• Working knowledge of machine, conveyor, and robotic operations
• Working knowledge and skills with hand and power tools
• Working knowledge of hydraulics & troubleshooting
• Programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers
• Electrical controls troubleshooting

The successful candidate will:

• Always follow prescribed safety precautions and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Use hand tools, small power tools, electric hoists, testing equipment, powered industrial trucks, etc.
• Lead in the development of the preventative maintenance and standardized work procedures for the manufacturing business.
• Plan, layout, and perform maintenance and repair operations on state-of-the-art injection molding machines and related equipment, including automation, using programmable controls.
• Maintain documentation and maintenance records for all equipment according to procedures.
• Coordinate work with outside contractors.
• Assemble, disassemble, and maintain molds and mold subsystems such as wire switches, air and cooling circuit plumbing, install hydraulics, brackets, pneumatics, mechanical components, etc.
• Diagnose problems and determine solutions.
